The clarification of the biostimulant mode of action is becoming increasingly important as it allows to comply with new government regulations and supply farmers with effective products. We studied the chemistry of an ore extracted humic acid and evaluated its biostimulant activity on tomato plants grown under controlled conditions. The observed bioactivity significantly affected the yield and quality of tomato plants and correlated to specific chemical properties emerging from data processing.
